I am going to high school now. As math has always been my weakness, I purchased the course books in advance. I am plan on learning a handful of topics before the classes begin . Any kind of pointers would be highly appreciated that could assist me to start studying completing the square word problems myself.

I have been in your place a few years ago when I was learning completing the square word problems. What part of algebraic signs and radicals poses more difficulties? Because I am sure that what you really need is a good software to help you understand the basic concepts and ways of solving the exercises. Did you ever use a program like that? I have tried a few but I have to say that Algebrator is the best and the easiest to use. It's not like those other programs because it teaches you how to think , it doesn't just give you the solutions.

I used Algebrator as well, especially in Basic Math. It helped me so much , and you won't believe how uncomplicated it is to use! It solves the tasks and it also describes everything step by step. Better than a teacher!

Yes! That's a great alternative to the expensive private instructors and expensive online training . The single page formula list provided there has aided me in every Algebra 1 internal that I have had in the past. Even if you are a newbie in Intermediate algebra, the Algebrator is very useful since it offers both easy and tough exercises and drills for practice.
