I've always wanted to learn equations in daily life , it seems like there's a lot that can be done with it that I can't do otherwise. I've browsed the internet for some good learning resources, and checked the local library for some books, but all the data seems to be directed to people who already know the subject. Is there any resource that can help new people as well?

I have a good suggestion that could help you with algebra. You simply need a good program to clarify the problems that are hard . You don't need a tutor , because on one hand it's very expensive , and on the other hand you won't have it near you whenever you need help. A software is better because you only have to get it once, and it's yours forever . I advice you to take a look at Algebrator, because it's the best. Since it can solve almost any algebra problems , you will probably use it for a very long time, just like I did. I got it years ago when I was in Basic Math, but I still use it sometimes .

I know a couple of teachers who use Algebrator themselves to teach students.

I remember having problems with factoring expressions, exponential equations and angle complements. Algebrator is a truly great piece of algebra software. I have used it through several math classes - Basic Math, Intermediate algebra and Algebra 1. I would simply type in the problem and by clicking on Solve, step by step solution would appear. The program is highly recommended.
